A scene from the action-packed edit.
Since I am probably never going to get around to my tiger-filled remix of the 1940 film His Girl Friday, you might want to take a look at Valentin Spirik's (aka indiworks) edit of the film, available at Ourmedia. In his own words:

what i find interesting: that the story in this 8' 26'' version on the whole still works - you somehow get the idea of what (could be) going on. this is even more fascinating when you know that the movie is based on a play...! obviously howard hawks knew exactly what he was doing and this just underlines what classic movie script writing teaches: show it, visualise the story, only use dialogue when absolutely necessary. i have to admit that i was surprised while editing/analysing the movie in finding out how much in fact is shown in this dialogue intense movie.
