I abhor crossposting. There is enough text on the Internet that it seems like a waste to put the same piece of writing in two places just because you do not think your readers are intelligent enough to either have already realized that everything you write is genius (and thus have subscribed to every website where you either write or comment in order to absorb all of your wisdom) or to mindlessly follow every single hyperlink you put on your website (because while what you write about is pure crap, the stuff you link to is Internet gold). Since I assume that the entirety of my readership falls in one of those two categories (or somewhere in-between), I point those in the latter toward a piece I wrote on the Harvard Free Culture blog about the Sony rootkit issue. I realize that everyone and their brother has written about this in the last few days, but I like to think at least some of the issues I raise are unique.
