Today is my birthday. To celebrate, I bought myself a slew of presents, including the Sony Ericsson W810i you can see in the picture at the right. Since it has a decent camera, expect more photos. I spent the entire day at home, assembling flat-packed furniture from IKEA armed with only a Leatherman Wave and a large amount of moxie in order to transform my room from that of a poor college graduate to the room of a poor college graduate with connections to a shady Swedish furniture company [via].
While it is possible that my worries about the morality of giving a sizable sum of money to the already ridiculously wealthy Kamprad family will keep me from getting a good night's sleep in my Aneboda bed, it is equally likely that tonight's dinner (see left) will make my sleep uneasy. "And in my dreams you're alive and you're crying," and all that.

If that's your opinion, then it is probably a good idea that I did not talk about some of my other birthday presents to myself: 33 1/3's In the Aeroplane Over the Sea and Jeff Mangum's Live at Jittery Joe's. In my defense, I have only read a few words of the former and am having difficulties getting Linux to recognize the latter, because it is an "Enhanced" CD.
