The official Pitchfork RSS feeds that I previously reported on are back. I assume that they are a permanent feature of the website, so I am yet again removing my feeds. Unlike the previous iteration of the Pitchfork "redesign," the website now has permalinks (which work!) and categories (which do not).

i prefer yours because yours include the album rating…
i agree, plus there's no easy way to add the official feeds to my LJ, which is the only way i'd ever read the feeds anyway. please bring them back? i'll love you forever.
As much as I would like to be loved for all eternity, I am not bringing my feeds back as long as official feeds exist. To do so would be rude and inconsiderate of the maintainers of the Pitchfork website. If you have problems with the official feeds, I suggest you contact Pitchfork directly.
So long, and thanks for all the fish.
I'm actually somewhat confused on how to add the official RSS feeds to my google homepage. I'm copying this link: http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/rss/record_reviews and pasting it into the Add URL in the add content page. I even went as far as putting a .rss at the end of that URL. Anyone have any suggestions, im pretty new to the whole feed thing.
oh, and the error message im getting is "Page can not be found".
Actually, Pitchfork's RSS feed is terribly horribly broken. It should be XML, and it's nothing but unformatted lines of text. Bizarre that it works at all. I get multiple copies of the same article many times when I subscribe. :(
Here's an example:
http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/page/home Tue, 19 Sep 2006 23:00:04 GMT Currently at PitchforkMedia.com http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/news/38670 Tue, 19 Sep 2006 19:23:00 GMT http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/news/38670 Amy Phillips http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/news/38671 Tue, 19 Sep 2006 19:08:00 GMT http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/news/38671 Kati Llewellyn http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/news/38660 Tue, 19 Sep 2006 13:20:00 GMT http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/news/38660 Amy Phillips http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/news/38683 Tue, 19 Sep 2006 22:56:00 GMT
I have 410'd my Pitchfork feeds.
Yup. Chiming in to confirm that that are indeed terribly horrible broken. It seems that every time a single new item is added, every item in the feed is marked as new. The excerpts are often non-existent.
Also, many of the links themselves are broekn, e.g. the Features RSS feed (http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/rss/features) has links that look like http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/features/39700 (this is supposed to point the Joanna Newsom interview, which is actually at http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/feature/39700 (note that it is "feature" not "features"). Similarly, the track review feed (http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/rss/track_reviews) has links to things like http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/track_reviews/39655, which is also a non-existent page. I've emailed corrections@pitchforkmedia.com pointing this out. If these problems bother you too, then please email them yourself.
