Unfortunately, I cannot thank Yahoo! for sending you here, since it was actually me - I edited all of the Pitchfork feeds to redirect here in order to notify people that official feeds were now available, and that this feed was ending.

However, since the official feeds have disappeared and Ryan Schreiber has not responded to my email, I have turned my feeds back on. They are available at:

Yes, I'm replying to my own comment. Having never visited here before, i decided to read some of your other posts — particularly, the "Thoughts on Flock" one. Given what I just wrote about being sent here via my apparently-screwey My Yahoo page, I had to laugh at your "Yahoo never sends anyone here" part of that post. In this case, Yahoo DID send someone here…albeit by mistake. Huzzah!

Okay, here's a weird one — up until yesterday, I had Pitchfork headlines set up in my "My Yahoo" home page. Today, all the Pitchfork headlines are gone, replaced with one link — to this page (which I've never read before). KOOKY.

The links open to a 404 message. I've never seen the pitchfork 404 message before…it's just a white screen with the number "404" on it. Classic and simple!

[...] Although it's probably the hipsterest music site online, I do enjoy reading Pitchfork from time-to-time to catch up on what those whippersnappers are listening to. The site has long gone without any RSS feeds for either its news or its record reviews. I hoped that they would add feeds when they launched a redesign in early 2005, but apparently they're too indie for metadata, leaving me months behind in my Arcade Fire news. Lately, I've been using an RSS feed that a reader created that scraped titles and permalinks from the news section, but today the feed included a post from that user's blog informing me that Pitchfork has added what it regards as RSS feeds. Unfortunately, "they are not actually XML, but broken XHTML pages," so they're at least as dicey as the scraped feeds. (I've never coded content management servers, but, dang, outputting valid RSS or Atom can't be that hard, can it?) Regardless, the underground feed is going down, so I'll have to switch to the approved Pitchfork feeds. [...]

hey — thanks for keeping up the RSS all this time. it's been awesome. looks like the 'official' one is dead now. will you put it back up if pitchfork decides they're not competent enough to do it themselves? :)
