bruised fingers clinging to a broken state-room door

On Saturday night, my fingers were crushed in my bedroom door.[1] When I was little, my siblings and I regularly got our fingers caught in doors, so the pain is somewhat familiar to me. This is by far the worst case. Finger-by-finger:
My bruised left ring finger.

  • My thumb is unhurt.
  • My index finger has two cuts on its side, right next to each other.
  • My middle finger has one cut on the side, and a 1 cm straight cut down its center.
  • My ring finger (see right) is certainly the worst. No cuts, but a horrible bruise will ugly blackish spots of dried blood.
  • My pinky finger has no visible injuries, but the fingertip is more sensitive than normal.

I can type, so I am certain that I will live, but it is still annoying.

[1] The combination of "Saturday night" and "bedroom" makes me want to tell a story about an overenthusiastic lover, but the culprit in this case was a roommate on a cell phone who was not paying attention (not realizing that I was screaming because my hand was caught in the door he was slowly closing, he responded by closing the door more quickly, compressing my fingers until they felt like they would burst like sausages). Thus is my mundane life…
