Cho Soft on Terror?

Red Army Faction logo
I like Margaret Cho as much as the next person, but her reasoning behind the naming of her new puppy seem a bit over the top:

Gudrun is named after the infamous Gudrun Ensslin who was the female leader of the Baader-Meinhof Gang, an art terrorist group from the 70s. Terrorism was different then. It had a chicness to it, which made it seem less like a dangerous menace and more like fashion.

When I think of "art terrorism," I think of guerilla theater groups like Improv Everywhere, not the Red Army Faction. Looking through the list of their crimes, it seems ridiculous to call them "chic." While I was not in Germany during the late 1970s, I doubt most Germans saw this group of left-wing radicals who kidnapped executives and robbed banks are fashionistas, rather than criminals.
