Connectivity is in the Eye of the Beholder

No Course Videos?
This purported list of "America's Most Connected Campuses," (via Slashdot) created by Forbes and the Princeton Review, should be viewed with a grain of salt, as not all of the results are valid. For example, according to the list, Harvard College does not provide students with space for web hosting, does not provide streaming course videos, network access in dormitory lounges, multimedia equipment, or courses in emerging technology (which is arbitrarily defined as security, videogames, and robotics; several computer science courses include security in their focus).

That's really odd-- did the Forbes people just not do any research whatsoever? Looking at the slashdot comments, it seems that Harvard isn't the only one they got wrong. I found it especially strange since I was in the middle of editing my Harvard-space webpage when I read this post...

I assume that they felt that since the data was self-reported, there was no need to confirm it. Nevertheless, I find it difficult to comprehend *how they could have felt this way. Of course, Forbes did collaborate with the Princeton Review, which is a bastion of complete and utter evil (ed: I am kidding; the Princeton Review is not evil. In fact, I actually like them better than Kaplan).
