Just finished a RSS 2.0 feed for Pitchfork's music news, as I talked about doing yesterday. I also changed all of the Crimson feeds to RSS 2.0; the change should take place when the feeds next update. The URL has also changed, but I made symbolic links in order to make it transparent.

thankyouthankyouthankyou!! i'm a creature of habit, and more than anything, the lack of a pitchfork RSS feed has kept me from making any major commitment to my RSS reader -- since i was still having to open the browser anyway. bootleg or no, thanks for making this happen! p.s. how did you do it? :)

All of the RSS feeds in the rss directory work through screen-scraping. A Perl script loads the RSS-less website, simply ripping out its content, & putting it into RSS form. The main disadvantage of this is that the feed does not automatically update with the latest articles until the Perl script runs for the next time.
Since someone else asked for it, the Pitchfork source code has been made publicly available.

I have a PHP script that will create an RSS feed of Pollstar if anyone is interested. I can't host it for everyone, but I'd be glad to share. sryder at gmail.com
