All We Have is Now

From Boing Boing comes a post about a website, futureme.org, which lets you send an email to yourself (or conceivably, someone else) in the future. Here is the email I sent:

Dear FutureMe,

Worried about the privacy implications of this website, but I guess you would know better. Are you still paranoid about privacy? I hope so. Can't wait till PastMe.org comes about! Anyway, lots of love, and here's hoping you have a flying car.

The link to my purported email message to myself in the future leads to someone else's email. Even more annoying, I no longer remember when I am suppose to receive the message (March 26, 2005? Or maybe 2009? Or did I opt for 2014?).

Luckily, Google comes to the rescue. The link has been changed.

Since the links to the FutureMe emails seem to shift regularly, I am going to just remove the link instead of changing it every couple of months.

Oh, and if you are interested, I did receive the email on March 26, 2005.

check out Time Netsule - it's a real time capsule and doesn't have the email/link problems.
