Found a link to this Washington Post article on Wonkette. Weird registration policy (at least the New York Times allows "partners," like Google and Userland to provide registration-free hyperlinks).

The article itself is pretty interesting. It's a bit funny that in this day and age, it is considered acceptable for the Post to send mail to a user's home address, but not to their email address.
