This article from Pravda is interesting; there is constant discussion about how important it is to spread the values of democracy and freedom around the world, yet more than three-quarters of Russian citizens believe censorship is important.
I am not sure whether this is a reflection of residual Soviet attitudes in older Russians, or simply a sign of the authoritarian culture there. Very few respondents (less than ten percent) said they trusted the media, choosing instead to rely in the government or church.
I am not sure how far I can trust the fact that, "28% of respondents, as it turned out, do not believe anyone." I am assuming that this suprising statement is a result of the English translation, and those people simply claimed that they did not trust any social organization very much.
